Better Understanding About Blogging and Blog

A blog is short for weblog, which simply means a website that is updated frequently with new information and is organized by date and submission. Blogs are typically a way of journalizing information whether it be personal, business, or what have you. It’s like an editorial and a journal all mixed together and available online for constant updates and submissions.

As a beginner, you probably want to know more about blogs and why people are using them.

Blogging started out when the Internet was new and the individuals who were technology savvy found it fun and entertaining to post different things they found on the web for other people to visit and enjoy. It caught on quickly and a community of blogs developed, allowing people to read other peoples blogs. As time went on, new technology was developed that allowed even the non-techie to create their own blog and join the blog culture.

Blogs are popular because they relay experiences, interesting thoughts, comments, photos, web links, and plenty of other information that people find interesting. Today, blogging is really popular and many people will send you a link to their blog so you can keep up with their experiences such as vacations, studies, pregnancies, and any other thing you can possibly think of.

What started out as a way to navigate the web and figure out all of the newness that was the Internet of the early ’90s, turned into a way for people to journalize their experiences, share photos, and keep people up to date on their lives. In response to the popularity of blogs, many websites launched software and free sign-ups for blogs so anyone could have their own blog and share their experiences with the entire world.

And so, blogging has continued to grow and weblogs have multiplied into the millions. In fact, there are so many blogs on the web that you can practically become part of your own community with people worldwide, sharing your life, experiences, and thoughts with people you would never have met. Blogs truly are linking people together and they are an amazing phenomenon.

If you are interested in blogging, all you have to do is join one of the many blog websites that will allow you to set up your own account and have your own blog space on the web, giving you a personal space to share photos, experiences, stories, links, and basically anything else that you care to share. Many people even find that writing blogs are excellent stress relievers and quite cathartic, so you might receive some additional benefits from your blog than just the joy of sharing your personal information. Go online today and find a blog website where you can set up an account and get started!

How do bloggers make money from blogs?

I’ve been reflecting this week about the amazing diversity of opportunities that are opening up for bloggers to make money from blogging.

I’ve long advised that bloggers seeking to make money from blogging spread their interests across multiple revenue streams so as not to put all their eggs in one basket.

The wonderful thing is that this is becoming easier and easier to do 2005 has seen many options opening up. I thought I’d take a look at some of the methods that bloggers are currently using to make money through blogs. -à by problogger.

Problogger being richest blogger of the world believes in earning from blogging as he knows blogging has been an industry now to earn money. There are people who are setting Real office with few people to write huge blogs to earn really huge amount. There are 100 of ways to earn from home but earning from blogging has the most return on investment. What investment I am talking about? I am talking about investment of time.

Income Streams for Bloggers - How to Make Money Blogging – Most important

60 % Advertising Programs: The most common way bloggers seem to earn money online is via the contextual adsprogram from Google - Adsense. Another two popular ones with many is Bidvertisver. A more recent addition that many are using successfully are Earn $$ with WidgetBucks and adbrite, Kontera.

40 % Sponsorship OR Reviews: In addition to the array of advertising programs that are available to join there is a growing awareness in the business of the value and opportunity that exists for them to advertise directly on blogs. These are not isolated cases - as I say I know of many blogs exploring sponsorship with advertisers at present and suspect we’ll see more of it in the year ahead. Sponsorship is also happening on a post by post basis with some bloggers being paid to write on certain topics by companies - either in one off or a regular fashion - and they are able to make big money from their blogs doing so. For example a post I have written for SponsoredReviews, Blogsvertise and linkworth. You can also check List of Sponsors here. The best of them is Payperpost as it have highest number of advertisers and they also pay really high.

RSS Advertising - The past 12 months have seen some advances in RSS Advertising also. I’m yet to hear of any bloggers making big money blogging through it to this point - but as improvements are made to the ad programs exploring this I’m sure we’ll start to see examples of it being profitable.

Affiliate Programs - There are larger affiliate programs like Amazon, Linkshare, Clickbank and Commission Junction but also literally thousands of others from the large to the very small.

Digital Assets - Increasing numbers of bloggers have been developing other digital assets to support and add revenue streams to their blogs. By this I mean that I’m increasingly seeing e-books, courses and tele-seminars being run by bloggers. This type of activity will only increase in future - in fact this week I’ve seen numerous examples of bloggers running courses.

Blog Network Opportunities - with the rise in popularity of Blog Networks - bloggers are also being presented with more places to earn an income from their blogging - by writing for and with others. While it might be difficult to get a writing gig with one of the bigger networks - there are plenty who are always asking for new bloggers to join and who are willing to pay bloggers using a variety of payment models. While there are distinct advantages of blogging for yourself - blogging for an established network who will handle a lot of the set up/promotion/admin/SEO etc has it’s advantages also. More and more bloggers are combining writing for themselves on their own blogs with taking on blog network blogs as additional income streams.

Business Blog Writing Opportunities - as blogging has risen in it’s profile as a medium more and more businesses are starting blogs. Many of these companies have internal staff take on blogging duties - but an increasing number of them are hiring specialist bloggers to come on and run their blogs. I know of a number of bloggers who in the past month or two have been approached for such paid work. Check out Bloggers for Hire if you’re looking for this type of work.

Non Blogging Writing Opportunities: Also becoming more common are bloggers being hired to write in non blogging mediums. Manolo’s recent coup of a column in the Washington Post is just one example of this as bloggers are increasingly being approached to write for newspapers, magazines and other non blog websites. Along side this is the rise of bloggers as published book authors - this is to the extent that one blogger I spoke with this week complained to me that they were one of the few bloggers than they knew who didn’t have a book deal!

Donations - Tip Jars and donation buttons have been a part of blogging for years now but this last year saw a number of bloggers go full time after fundraising drives. Perhaps the most high profile of these was Jason Kottke of kottke.org who through the generosity of his readership was able to quit his job and become a full time blogger

Flipping Blogs - Also more common in 2005 was the practice of ‘Blog Flipping’ - or selling of blogs. This has happened both on an individual blog level (I can think of about 20 blogs that sold this year) but also on a network level (the most obvious of these being the 8 figure sale of Weblogs Inc to AOL).

Merchandising - My recent attempt to sell ProBlogger.net T-shirts wasn’t a raging success, but it is an example of how an increasing number of bloggers are attempting to make a few extra dollars from their blogs by selling branded products through programs like Cafepress (although I have to say they’ve lost one of my own orders and are being quite unresponsive to my requests to follow it up at present). While I didn’t have a lot of success with merchandising - quite a few larger blogs are seeing significant sales - especially blogs with a cult following. I’m not at liberty to discuss details - but I know of one largish blog which will see sales over $20,000 in merchandise for the calendar year of 2005.

Consulting and Speaking - While it has been popular for established consultants to add blogs to their businesses we’re also starting to see bloggers with no consulting background able to make money by charging readers for their time in consulting scenarios BECAUSE of the profile that their blogs have built them. Blogging has the ability to establish people as experts on niche topics and we all know the value of being perceived as an expert. I spoke to one blogger last month who charges himself out at over $200 an hour for speaking and consulting work - his area of expertise was something that he knew little about 18 months ago - but through his blog he’s become a leader in his field and a minor celebrity in his industry.

As time rolls on there are more and more ways that bloggers make money from their blogs opening up. Feel free to suggest your own ideas and experiences in comments below.

You should also know that Blogger.com is taken over by Google and Google has also made blog search especially for all the bloggers writing blogs over the internet.

Here try this Link to search any blog on any topic.

There is also an interesting story behind blogger.com, please find the short story below on blogger.com

The Story of Blogger

Blogger was started by a tiny company in San Francisco called Pyra Labs in August of 1999. This was in the midst of the dot-com boom. But we weren't exactly a VC-funded, party-throwing, foosball-in-the-lobby-playing, free-beer-drinking outfit. (Unless it was other people's free beer.)

We were three friends, funded by doing annoying contract web projects for big companies, trying to make our own grand entrance onto the Internet landscape. What we were originally trying to do doesn't matter so much now. But while doing it, we created Blogger, more or less on a whim, and thought — Hmmm... that's kinda interesting.

Blogger took off, in a small way, and eventually a bigger way, over a couple years. We raised a little money (but stayed small). And then the bust happened, and we ran out of money, and our fun little journey got less fun. We narrowly survived, not all in one piece, but kept the service going the whole time (most days) and started building it back up.

Things were going well again in 2002. We had hundreds of thousands of users, though still just a few people. And then something no one expected happened: Google wanted to buy us. Yes, that Google

We liked Google a lot. And they liked blogs. So we were amenable to the idea. And it worked out nicely.

Now we're a small (but slightly bigger than before) team in Google focusing on helping people have their own voice on the web and organizing the world's information from the personal perspective. Which has pretty much always been our whole deal.

For more on Google, check google.com. (Also good for searching.)

To start Blogging – Step 1 Sign In with Gmail

To start blogging you need few things which should be registered, best thing is al of them is free.

Let’s start with Gmail. You will need a Google account to register with Adsense, Analytics, blogger, web masters tool and many more things like that but most important is to check mails and so people and company can reach you. If you are already using Gmail then you can use the same one or you can register it HERE.

So people who are new to internet for them I would like to explain what Gmail.com is:-

Gmail is Google's free web mail service. It comes with built-in Google search technology and over 2,600 megabytes of storage (and growing every day). You can keep all your important messages, files and pictures forever, use search to quickly and easily find anything you're looking for, and make sense of it all with a new way of viewing messages as part of conversations.

There are no pop-ups or untargeted banner ads in Gmail, only small text ads. Ads and related information are relevant to your messages, so instead of being obtrusive, they may even be useful for once.

Gmail also integrates instant messaging right into the email experience, so you can stay in even better touch with your friends when you're online. Easy, efficient and maybe even fun to use. It's a whole new way to think about email. It's Google's approach to email.

Quick Facts for Gmail

  • Cost: Free
  • Storage: 2,600+ megabytes (and counting)
  • Superior spam protection using innovative Google technology
  • Languages: Messages can be sent and read in most languages. The Gmail interface is available in 40 languages: US and UK English, simplified and traditional Chinese, Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Tagalog, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
  • Access: Free automatic forwarding and POP3 access
  • JavaScript and cookies must be enabled on all browsers
  • Fully supported browsers:
    - Microsoft IE 5.5+ (download: Windows)
    - Netscape 7.1+ (download: Windows Mac Linux)
    - Mozilla 1.4+ (download: Windows Mac Linux)
    - Mozilla Firefox 0.8+ (download: Windows Mac Linux)
    - Safari 1.2.1+ (download: Mac)
  • Many other browsers work with Gmail's basic HTML view, including:
    - Microsoft IE 4.0+
    - Netscape 4.07+
    - Opera 6.03+
  • Chats in Gmail work on Microsoft IE 6.0+ and Firefox 1.0+

This would make easy to use all other application of Google as Gmail is one of the services offered by Google and it makes easy to sign in with all other products and features provided by Google.

Here is your link to register your account free with Gmail.

Welcome And Introduction of a Blog

Hello friends being this a first post on this blog would like to share my views and thoughts about earning from home.

I have started earning on Internet from last year, but i don't find my self any where in compare to Problogger and Shoemoney. They are most famous and richest blogger in the world. I read a article on some one blog about Problogger and Shoemoney about there earning and there life with blogging.

Here is the part of the article. (Copy right not reserved)

{1 Place - Probloggger. Darren Rowse is a huge genius, it is amazingly to write 3-5 posts per day. Where does he take these thoughts?

The approximate income by my estimations is about $50,000 per month. The sources of income: Advertising space, Reviews, b5Media, Text Link Ads, Affiliate Sales. The number of daily visitors is about 5 million!!! Quite staggering, isn’t it?

2 Place - ShoeMoney. It is not possible not to admire with this guy. Look at what he was 4 years ago and what he is now. }

Well, I think that his millions have allowed him to do it. Yeah, this guy is millionaire; recently he sold his AuctionAds for $3 million.
His blog’s income is about $20,000 per month. The sources of income: Advertising, Affiliate sales, Sales of own Goods, Reviews, Text Links Ads. The number of daily visitors is about 10,000.

Isn't It huge $50,000 per month i can buy a Ferrari and lot more in few days if i would have that much money. When you see there website you will find that they are a blogger, who have bought there domain. Buying a Domain i think is the most important and essential thing to do once you have traffic crossed 1000 / day. I was so amazed about pro-blogger posting 3 to 4 posting per day. This is not really easy. You need to have lot of researching skills. Putting your analysis into words is really difficult. As it is important that you make your post short and simple.

OoPS sorry i almost forgot to introduce me, Hello Friends i am known as RushOn. I do have many blog written on my experience on earning from internet, but i won't disclose any of them here. You can surely ask me why by commenting on my post.

So if you want to earn from internet and if you new to blogging industry trying to put your step into the world, you are most welcome. Through the Blogging Industry is competitive but the industry is booming and it has space for more million bloggers. Just for your knowledge there are more then 5 Million blogs on the World Wide Web.

Please subscribe my blog as you will find a new post on earning and blogging everyday. Each blog would be from basic level to experts which will take you from Zero to million without any investment. Also bare few of the sponsored Reviews and advertisement you will see on the blog ;-).
